My name is Georgie. I support people who are handling the financial side of their divorce without a solicitor — the part that decides who keeps the house, the pensions, the savings and the debts.
With a background in family law and training in therapeutic approaches, I offer something most people struggle to find: someone who understands how financial settlements work, at the negotiating table and in court, and who can help you stay steady enough to make good decisions along the way.
Everything we do together is led by you — your pace, your priorities, your case.
Georgie O'Keeffe
Decisions about your financial future shouldn’t be made in panic. Alongside the practical work, I help you manage the fear, anger, exhaustion and grief that come with separating your finances, so you can think clearly when it matters most.
Whether you’re negotiating, preparing for mediation or already in court, there are rules, forms and deadlines — and each stage has a different purpose. I explain it all in plain English, from financial disclosure and Form E through the FDA and FDR to Final Hearing, and help you prepare so you know what’s expected before you walk in.
Most financial settlements are agreed, not decided by a judge. I help you understand how the court approaches these cases, so you can weigh your options and make choices you can live with — from clarity, not fear.
Financial settlements decide where you’ll live, what you’ll retire on and how you’ll rebuild. The legal process deals in facts, figures and deadlines — but you’re the one living through it. When you understand the process and stay grounded, you prepare better, negotiate better and make decisions that hold up.
The best time to get support is before anything is filed. Understanding your finances and what the court would take into account puts you in a far stronger position at the negotiating table — and often keeps you out of a courtroom fight altogether.
When it does go to court, preparation still makes the difference. Two of my clients have kept their former matrimonial home. One secured it through a court judgment. The other had a final order requiring the home to be sold — through further negotiation with her former spouse, the order was remade and she kept her home.
Most of my work is done remotely. If you’d like me with you at a hearing, I can attend courts in the South East, with the court’s permission.
I work only on the financial side of divorce and separation. I don’t take on children or domestic abuse proceedings — if that’s what you need, I’ll point you towards the right help.
